Milano Design Week 2025 / Designer : Naoto Fukasawa

7th-13st April 2025  (Press day  7th April 2025)

With the goal of promoting a kinder society and guided by the desire to spread happiness, for the first time Jakuets decided to involve a designer like Naoto Fukasawa to create a new collection, which will be presented in Milan during Fuorisalone: an installation titled “Playful Sculpture”. The series will find its ideal setting in the gardens of the Triennale, generating an integrated oasis in the city and overlooking the green Parco Sempione, where the slow and dilated time of play can envelop passers-by of any age and suspend the frenzy of the Design Week for a moment.

ABOUT JAKUETS

Founded in 1916 in Fukui, Japan, JAKUETS is not just a company producing equipment for children’s playgrounds – it is a team of true experts in playful activities that has always worked to create stimulating environments.

Initially conceived to support the local community in Fukui in its endeavour to establish new nursery schools and workspaces for women, the project later evolved its mission and grew to be the company known as JAKUETS today. Since its origin, its operations have been
focused on a deep respect for our ancestors and for nature, with the vision to plant seeds for future generations. The company now combines these values with education and design to create progress-oriented solutions.

Over the years, JAKUETS constantly focused its efforts on improving the educational environment for children in early childhood and optimizing the spaces of nursery schools and daycare centres. Furthermore, the company has launched environmental projects and
initiatives to improve public parks. In 2024, JAKUETS obtained a TÜV certification, an international standard that certifies the safety and functional efficacy of its products.

Among the many social and community initiatives implemented by the company is “PLAY DESIGN LAB”, a research and design centre collaborating with experts from various industries, including design, art, architecture, science, education, medicine, and physical
education. JAKUETS also manages the “RESILIENCE PLAYGROUND Project”, a research project focused on playground equipment, with a medical and design approach, aimed at creating inclusive playgrounds for all children, regardless of their possible disability.

The company’s Japanese headquarters covers a surface of 33.000 m² and is the place where the entire process develops, from planning and design to production and after-sales maintenance, guaranteeing fully-integrated and seamless operations.
